THE ABORTION CONVERSATION PROJECT
We recognize the transformative power of pregnancy and all its possibilities. We envision a world in which abortion is affirmed as a moral decision without stigma. We believe that open and honest conversations, in a safe environment, about the experience of abortion will begin to create this world.
The Abortion Conversation Project is committed to eliminating the stigma of abortion by creating new ways and opportunities to talk about abortion honestly and publicly. The real life experiences of providers and women themselves will enable people to understand and appreciate the complex moral decision making surrounding a pregnancy decision.
We pledge open conversations that do not demonize those with differing views, or convince anyone that we are “right”. We realize that decisions about pregnancy bring up issues of life, death, sex, parenthood, and so much more. We want to create safe spaces for women and men to consider what is best for their lives.
The Abortion Conversation Project consists of its board and staff, Conversation Partners that affiliate with us, and connections to clinics and prochoice organizations and individuals. Conversation Partners agree to support the project and may join in national discussions sponsored by ACP. To join, see further information under Activities.
Keep the conversation going. I have learned so much through your site,
thank you
Karen

The ACN and the directory of good doctors have helped in need two times, I don’t know what I would have done.

In my Saturday morning class outside the AWC, Baby-Killing 1409, I often base my lecture on an article, “The Abortion Regime,” that begins by showing how legal abortion was born in lies, and continues by showing how it is sustained by lies. The above proves the accuracy of that second claim.
You “believe in open and honest conversation” about abortion? Actually you believe in no such thing. Rather, you believe in silencing the opposition.
How do I know? I know because I have been trying to talk to a worker or an escort at the AWC for many years, with little success. That’s why I have to resort to lecturing. The best way to teach is to exchange ideas, but if you will not exchange them, I have to resort to the second best method.
I have even resorted to visiting Jennifer’s home. Does she come out to talk to me there? No, but sometimes she sends out her husband to terrorize me.
See what I mean? This regime is sustained by lies.
John,
You haven’t a clue about teaching or about open dialogue. Lecturing is so last year. Good thing you retired.
YOUR regime is to terrorize women who enter the clinic, to do whatever you can to bring attention to yourself. After all of your pathetic, attention-seeking “work” at AWC, it comes down to one fact. You have no interest or care for women who are facing surely one of the most difficult decisions in their lives.
So remember when you stand by the gate on Keats Street, clipboard in hand, you’re wasting valuable real estate for others who might genuinely want to help women. In other words, stand aside and let those who can, DO.
Like you, those who can’t, bully.
